Can you help me out with a broken window/

Can you help a poor guy? I managed to start with a small crack in a side window and by the time we reached our destination I had several cracks! I have rubber trimming around the window. 1. How do you replace the window? is there a special grade of window? 2. How does it secure into the window frame? with some caulking or joint compound? 3. Can the rubber trim be put back after I remove it or do I need to get new trim? I also have bulging paneling on the outside of my TT, one part is above my front leveler, could lowering this leveler cause these panels to bulge. How do I fix these bulges? I see what looks like staples? Thanks in advance for all your help with my questions.

Planning a trip to Glacier NP next summer can you advise?

We are planning a two week vacation pulling our TT to Glacier National Park in August. I have a few questions if you could guide us, thanks for your help and advise! Weather, what should we pack? Elevation, I'm pulling a 27ft TT are roads good? There are three more national parks, what is a good one? Any parks with full hookups to reccomend? What sights should we go see? Is two weeks long enough?

RE: Have you heard or seen this in campgrounds?

At several Rio Grande Valley (South Texas) they have rental units. Some are new park models, others are Winter Texans who may decide to skip a year and rent their units which includes all classes of rvs. We rented a park model to try it out. It was a great experience. We ended up buying a 40ft Hornet with two-bedrooms that is now sitting on our new land. This is awesome! I've always loved the mystique of the vintage travel trailers, have you stayed there before?

Got quite a few around here. Where are these located? east, midwest? we are from Idaho and we do a lot of camping in our state and have never seen this before! I'm sure it's not a cheap endeavor!

RE: Have you heard or seen this in campgrounds?

I've never seen any around me but that isn't saything that there isn't one. I know we have a RV rental place not to far and for a fee they will bring it to the campground and set it up for you. To me, that is the same kinda thing when you dont' do it yourself. When we go it is a family affair. Everyone has a job setting up and tearing down. I totally forgot about the setup, we too have responsibilities for our five children and they all really enjoy it.

Have you heard or seen this in campgrounds?

I was reading about some CG's that have Motorhomes/Travel Trailers already on sight and you just drive to CG's and camp in one of these units? I thought that was a good way to test out for newbies to camping in one but takes away from the fun the hooking up your TT, and getting ready for the road. When we pull our TT I slow down and actually enjoy more the scenery and the whole experience of being a part gypsy part explorer. What are your thoughts?

RE: How to keep you dog from barking at CG's?

sounds like a water gun is the overwhelming chose! Thanks for the insight, does this work on children as well?

How to keep you dog from barking at CG's?

We have a Westie (Scottie) who is twelve years old and hates to be tied up to trees and barks at every other dog that walks by. We just bought a Shih Tzu (Gracie) to play with him but he is not interested. We were going to explore getting one of those circular fences to keep them inside to see if this might help. Does anyone have other suggestions? Thanks, Ben

RE: Decorating your TT how much is too much?

This is one of those "to each his own" type deals. All I can say is do your decorating with a mind set of being considerate to fellow campers. For example, wind chimes may be annoying to a camper near you who is out for peace, quiet & the sounds of nature. Same with hanging lights - in some campgrounds you are stuffed pretty close so bright lights next to someone trying to sleep is annoying too. Personally I don't clutter up my site with extra stuff but I really don't care if others do if they are considerate. You sound like a good sport, I'll try to keep the glow of my lights to a low pink color :)

RE: Are you changing your RV life because of the cost of gas?

I agree with you, especially with food. We are very frugal with our shopping and plan better i.e. sales and clearance items.

Decorating your TT how much is too much?

I have always been one for "nostalgia" I'm one who enjoys watching I Love Lucy and the Brady Bunch and wonder what ever happend to that simple way of life. But back to my original question what is too much for decorating your TT. I love flamingos and it started with a lawn ornament and lead to lights, windchimes and bathroom acs. The wife just laughs when I find something more to add! Do you have any PIC's you might have of your decked out TT? I will post mine from our 4th of July trip. Thanks in advance and be safe! Ben

Are you changing your RV life because of the cost of gas?

RV'ers, Are you changing how to run the roads because of the rising fuel cost? I would be interested to open up discussions with as many of us die harders who would rather enjoy the exploration of this great country than stay home in "Suburbia". Are you planning less trips? shorter distances? I was watching the television this morning and there is a trend starting where campgrounds are staging Trailer, Motorhomes in their full hookup sights to allow people to rent them? Sounds good to drive your KIA to a sight and have the camping comforts waiting for you. But I'm one that enjoys running through my TT and looking at what needs to be fixed, hooking it up and hitting the road as a true road warrior. Every trip is different for my family and I. But I'm curious who out there is making changes and what changes we can share with each other. I see "A LOT" of TT's out there for sale and this makes me sad that some have to give up this great lifestyle of traveling the road. I would appreciate your thoughts, hope to see you on the road! Ben

RE: How does a reg. car pull a trailer?Do you have any Pics?

does mean a shorter chasis helps distribute the weight better than a long chasis, is that correct?

How does a reg. car pull a trailer?Do you have any Pics?

I was watching the long, long trailer with Ricy and Lucy and could not believe that they could pull that long trailer with just regular vehicle? Has anyone seen recently this type of hookup? I think it to be strenuous enought pulling my TT with my burb, can not imagine the sway you would get from a regular vehicle, how about the fact of th weight on your suspension, did they make tighter cars back then? If you have any pics of odd setups, send them my way so I can compile all the pics. Thanks, Ben

generator gas can extension? Can you help me find the post?

I was talking with a buddy and he said someone posted how to rig up your 5 gallon gas can for your generator rather than using the gas holding tank on the generator. Can you give me some guidance?
